High-yield facts that are tested again and again

Organisation

  1. Valuation level is normally the plant (setting is irreversible in practice).
  2. Purchasing org can be plant-specific, company-specific or cross-company.
  3. A plant belongs to exactly one company code.
  4. Storage locations are plant-specific.

Inventory

  1. Key movement types: 101 GR, 102 reversal, 122 return delivery, 201 GI to cost centre, 261 GI to order, 311 SLoc transfer, 301 plant transfer, 551 scrapping, 561 initial entry, 701/702 PI differences.
  2. Stock types: unrestricted, quality inspection, blocked; GR blocked stock is non-valuated.
  3. Negative stock: allowed per valuation area, plant/SLoc and material.

Valuation

  1. Account determination chain: valuation grouping code + valuation class + transaction key (BSX, WRX, GBB, PRD, UMB…) → G/L account (OBYC).
  2. Account modifier distinguishes GBB variants (VBR, VAX, VAY, INV, ZOB…).
  3. Price control S posts differences to PRD; V adjusts the moving average price.

Invoice verification

  1. Tolerance keys PP, BR, BW, DQ, DW, AN, AP, ST… configured per company code (OMR6).
  2. Blocked invoices released with MRBR; payment block R.
  3. GR-based IV vs. PO-based IV; ERS with MRRL.
  4. GR/IR maintenance with MR11.

Planning

  1. MRP types: VB manual reorder, VM automatic reorder, VV forecast-based, R1 time-phased, PD MRP, ND no planning.
  2. Lot sizes: EX lot-for-lot, FX fixed, HB replenish to max, WB weekly…
  3. Source determination order: quota arrangement → source list → contracts/info records.

Purchasing configuration

  1. Document types and number ranges; item categories allowed per document type.
  2. Account assignment categories (K, F, A, P…) and field selection.
  3. Message determination: condition technique (NAST) vs. BRF+ output management.
